Agadir City Tour & Souk
Overview
A short Agadir city tour for a first look at the places people talk about. The drive follows the seafront promenade past the marina, then climbs to Agadir Oufella, the kasbah 236 metres above the city. Built in the 16th century, it was destroyed by the 1960 earthquake, and its walls now frame the best view of the bay and the port.
Back in town, the tour stops at the Mohammed V mosque, one of the city's main landmarks. First-time visitors can also stop at an argan cooperative to see how the oil is made.
The tour ends with up to an hour and a half of free time in Souk El Had, one of the largest markets in Morocco, with spices, produce, crafts and clothes. For the cable car to the kasbah instead of the road, see Agadir cable car.
