3 Days Erg Chigaga Desert
Overview
Erg Chigaga is the largest dune field in Morocco, reached by 64 kilometres of off-road track beyond M'hamid, and its highest dunes rise to around 300 metres. This private tour takes three days to reach it from Agadir and return by a different route.
Day one crosses the mountains via Taznakht and Taliouine to Ait Ben Haddou, then Ouarzazate for the film studios and the Taourirt kasbah, and ends with a night in a guesthouse or hotel in Zagora. Day two follows the Draa valley to Tamegroute, with its underground kasbah, Koranic library and pottery workshops, then lunch in the Erg Lihoudi dunes before the off-road drive to Erg Chigaga, dinner and a night in a desert camp.
Day three crosses the dry lake of Iriki to Foum Zguid, stops at a carpet cooperative in Taznakht and returns through Taliouine to Agadir in the late evening. The price depends on the size of your group, so send us an enquiry with your dates.
