Taroudant & Tiout Oasis

Taroudant was the capital of the Saadian dynasty in the 16th century, and its ochre ramparts still surround the whole town. This day trip from Agadir reaches it in the late morning, after a stop to see goats in the argan trees.

You walk inside the walls and through the market, then drive about 30 minutes to Tiout, a village at the edge of a palm oasis. Lunch of tagine and couscous is served at the panoramic kasbah of Tiout, with seasonal fruit and mint tea.
